SystemRoMedic assumes and encourages a collaborative relationship between the user and the carer. What is good for the carer is also beneficial for the person receiving assistance. It is important to use the energy available in the most effective way: to be mindful of the carer's back, arms and shoulders and at the same time stimulate and activate the user as much as possible for an active rehabilitation process.
Using lifts too early, when a progressive degenerative situation exists, leads to the user becoming passive and to accelerated muscle and joint degeneration. When user and carer work in harmony together this improves the relationship between them. Every procedure becomes easier and more comfortable with the carer becoming more of an assistant than being in complete charge of a transfer.
Mechanical lifting
Patient lifts are the last resort, but in many ways, they have become a necessity. There are many situations in which lifting the user can not be avoided. And in these situations, mechanical lifting should always be the first-hand choice as it means less load on the carer as well as safety and security for the user.
Manual lifting
Of course, there are also situations when we have to perform manual lifts, but this should only be done when there really are no other alternatives. When lifting manually, it is important never to lift more than is legally permitted and appropriate for the individual's ability. It is also important to use good working postures/techniques and simple, functional and safe aids.
SystemRoMedic offers a wide range of products for safe and easy lifting of users. The lifting aids are adapted for manual lifting, lying or sitting, and for mechanical lifting, lying or sitting, but also for standing training and gait training.
We love easy transfers! Therefore we are working to make the user's situation as comfortable and safe as possible. A natural consequence of this, of course, is that the carers' work is made easier.
